![]() ![]() For those unaware, Magical Dining is a limited-time engagement that happens every year in the Orlando area. Overall the entire meal was excellent, minus a small blunder that was thankfully corrected.īefore we get into this meal, I wanted to briefly mention that we visited Jaleo on the account of Magical Dining. In this review of Jaleo at Disney Springs, we’ll take a look at the menu and a few of the items we tried during our meal. This dining establishment opened a few years back and is categorized as signature dining at Disney. Save yourself the pain and just go to Frontera, don't pay $60 to be disrespected while eating an overpriced steak.Jaleo (pronounced huh-lay-owe) is a restaurant at Disney Springs offering Spanish cuisine. Everyone I talked to who ate at STK that evening said it was not worth the time or money. We ended up going to Frontera Cucina and the service there was lovely, highly recommend there! They also marked my reservation on open table as canceled to keep me from posting a review. 20 minutes go by and no word, I go inside to follow up and they tell me they are over an hour and a half behind on reservations! If I had been told this information upfront I would have gladly made other arrangements that evening, but the fact that they were going to let us stand around in the heat when plenty of other locations had no wait was infuriating! 2 people in my party were on the verge of hypoglycemic episodes. I check in with the hostess outside and she confirms my number on file and lets me know they will text me when my table is ready. I came to STK with a reservation with a group celebrating my sisters wedding on a Saturday night, we had gotten drinks beforehand and quickly finished them to make sure we were respectful and on time for our reservation. I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere like this before. I understand that it is in a touristy area but for the locals that would possibly return - can you at least be nice to them. We will all be writing reviews - all six of us. On top of all that, the way the receipt was itemized got everyone confused. This whole experience was bad - the service and the food. I am sorry that you all are doing Magical Dining - but if you all cannot give good quality food then maybe the service can be "upgraded" - it is a whole experience anyway that you want when you go out. Even the dessert could not have been worse we ordered apple pie and it was supposed to be warm, it was so cold. We ordered extra sides ( mad and cheese, tater tots, Brussel sprouts, and corn pudding) those were the only edible parts of our meal. The only thing that saved anything during that meal were the sides. It made the steak even colder than it was. My friend was offered the truffle butter and she said yes not knowing it was $12 for a cold pat of truffle butter. I ordered the lobster upgrade and it was so dry I had to dip it in the steak sauce for it to be edible. It was the thinnest piece of ribeye as well. It was not rubbed, it was sprinkled at most. Our entree course - we all ordered the coffee "rubbed" steak. We got the calamari and that was ok super oily but it was fried, no surprise there. The tables around us with two guests got two rolls. The bread that came out made us laugh because we only received two rolls. We ordered a few items off the regular menu and ordered upgrades to the Magical Menu. Just like dining out, a cocktail is a whole experience and drinking a mule out of a glass if not the same - you are better off ordering something else. We asked why they were not all in copper mugs and she said they only had ONE MUG in the entire building. The Moscow mules which were ordered came in glasses. When we got to the table, we were given the STK menu - we had to ask for the Magical Dining Menu. I told him not to worry, we were called for our table. We felt so unwelcome it was the most uncomfortable standing there knowing he did not want to serve us. Once at the bar, the bartender under his breath said " Oh no, here we go". We then proceeded to the bar because our table was not ready at the reserved time - even though the place was actually empty. She would not seat us until they finished using the restroom. The hostess asked for our name and asked if everyone was there and we said yes but they are in the restroom. We walked to the hostess stand and the other couple went straight to the restroom. We normally do not go to restaurants that offer Magical Dining because we know that the service and quality of the food can be a bit off. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. I wish I was writing to say how amazing our experience was at STK in Orlando. ![]()
